This week we’re taking you back to 17 November 1987 when Congolese movie La Vie Est Belle (translated ‘Life Is Beautiful’ in English) was released. The iconic film which stars renowned Congolese musician Papa Wemba, is about a young man seeking fame and fortune as a singer in Zaire’s capital, Kinshasa. In the midst of his search he falls in love with the beautiful Kabibi (Bibi Krubwa).
